The Knife Of Never Letting Go – Patrick Ness

ImageI am currently in the process of reading one of my favourite books/series; “Chaos Walking”. The novel takes place in the future in a small town called, Prentisstown, “everyone can hear everyone’s thoughts. There is no privacy. There are no secrets. There are no women. Or are there?

Todd Hewitt is thirty days away from becoming a man, the last boy in Prentisstown. But when he stumbles across a patch of silence, where he can hear no one else’s thoughts but his own, he starts to uncover the truth… Prentisstown has been lying to him. And if he’s going to survive, he’s going to have to run…

This well-written, fast paced adventure by Patrick Ness deserves more than just one award. I couldn’t put it down! The characters are believable, though not always likable.

I cried my heart out in several scenes, and although it’s not funny, exactly, it does have a touch of humor here and there. There is a sequel to this book, so don’t expect a happy ending.” (Guardian.co.uk 2013 April 12)

I read books because they act as another reality apart from my own. They are my escape. Reading helps my imagination to grow and my mind to explore new worlds. Reading is one of life’s great pleasures that has the ability to allow you to experience more then anything else has to offer you. Personally, I enjoy reading books that have a fantasy, thriller aspect to it. Books such as; The Passage by Justin Cronin, The Host by Stephenine Meyer, and The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown etc. I enjoy books that go into deep character thought, that have amazing story based with a historical aspect to it and one that will leave you guessing and wanting for more.

In the past 6months, I have read:
The Passage – Justin Cronin
The Host – Stephenine Meyer
The Summoning – Kelley Armstrong
Bitten – Kelley Armstrong
The Ask And The Answer (Book 2 of “Chaos Walking” series) – Patrick Ness
